Emerging technologies, such as AI and Blockchain are transforming the landscape of businesses around the globe. In particular, small to medium organizations in the developing countries will have numerous opportunities but will also face serious security and governance challenges. This short course is based on graduate level research and education in the United States, combined with practical work with the United Nations in multiple developing countries. The emphasis is on how smart organizations can systematically become smarter through gradual digital transformations that are driven by AI and other technologies. A strategic planning methodology based on a digital transformation platform is used for hands-on experiments and better insights.

Course Description

This short course is based on graduate level research and education in the United States, combined with practical work with the United Nations in multiple developing countries. The emphasis is on how smart organizations can systematically become smarter through gradual digital transformations that are driven by AI and other technologies. A strategic planning methodology based on a digital transformation platform is used for hands-on experiments and better insights.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand what is AI, Blockchains and other technologies and how can they transform organizations
  • Identify the key components of modern Smart Digital Enterprises
  • Understand the role these components play in digital transformations
  • Create simple digital transformation plans of a medium sized organization

Requirements

  • All CITO courses require a Bachelor’s degree or four years of work experience in a modern organization
  • Interest in learning about digital technologies and technology platforms
  • Access to a computer with internet connectivity for online components
  • Commitment to participate in hands-on labs and projects
